The School for Wives by Molière - Costume and Set Design

Molière’s problematic anti-hero Arnolphe pursues his young charge Agnes in this vibrant, hand-crafted setting - inspired by the most beautiful Delft ceramic birdcage in the collection of the Museum den Haag. By creating this woman-size version, Agnes becomes many things - a trapped bird, a prized porcelain figurine, a morsel being served up to men wearing giant napkin neckpieces. The men are all frills, pearls and bows, one goes everywhere on a very flamboyant scooter!

The second of five plays in weekly rep by Flywheel Theatre Company at Riverside Studios as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.
